APPLICATION

BURY CABLE multicore XLPE PVC cable serves fixed power and control installations where a common sheath and protected cable route are specified. Class 2 copper conductors, XLPE insulation and PVC sheathing support 600/1000V distribution in buildings and industrial facilities.

The construction range includes two- to five-core power cables and 7-, 10-, 12-, 19-, 27-, 37- and 48-core control configurations. Use the exact core and conductor-size combination for the circuit.

KEY FEATURES

  • 99 listed construction entries across power and control configurations.

  • Two-, three- and four-core power sizes from 1.5 to 400 mm²; five-core sizes from 1.5 to 240 mm².

  • Control configurations in 1.5, 2.5 and 4 mm².

  • PVC ST1/ST2 sheath: listed operating limits 80°C/90°C respectively.

  • Minimum bending radius 12 × OD; short-circuit limit 250°C for 5 seconds.

SELECTION NOTES

  • Select the exact row, including mixed-size configurations and four-core (S) sectoral stranded entries. Confirm core identification.

  • Electrical tables cite BS 7671:2008 at 90°C conductor and 30°C ambient. Confirm ratings for the actual sheath, loaded cores and route conditions.

  • Five-core and larger multicore circuits require application-specific electrical checks; use BURY CABLE project data for final sizing.

  • Specify route protection, environmental options, packing and drum lengths. Confirm the selected construction dimensions with the order datasheet.

FAQ

What does (S) mean in the four-core section?

The original table identifies (S) as sectoral stranded conductors. Use the corresponding dimensions when selecting accessories.

Is steel wire armour included?

This is the unarmoured construction. Compare the related SWA PVC range where the route requires additional mechanical protection.

Do all multicore cables use the same current rating?

Current capacity depends on conductor area, loaded cores, grouping and installation. Request the rating for the exact control or power circuit.

Is the PVC sheath halogen free?

If the project requires halogen free materials, use a suitable LSZH construction and confirm its smoke and halogen requirements.

What should an enquiry specify?

Send core count, conductor areas, run lengths, circuit duty, installation conditions, ST1/ST2 sheath grade and required colours.
