APPLICATION

BURYCABLE FirePro 300/500V single core

Mica XLPE LSZH cable is designed for fixed

installations where circuit integrity

under fire conditions is specified.

Typical project environments include

hospitals, hotels, high-rise buildings,

airports, metro facilities and power stations.

The construction comprises one insulated

copper conductor and a separate bare copper

circuit protective conductor (CPC)

within an LSZH outer sheath.

A mica glass tape fire barrier is applied

beneath the XLPE insulation to help preserve

electrical insulation during fire exposure.

The LSZH sheath helps limit smoke emission

and halogen acid gas release during burning.

The basic cable design is adapted from

BS 7211:2012. The product data sheet lists

BS 6387 and IEC 60331-21 as circuit

integrity test references.

The applicable test method, classification

and duration must be confirmed against

the test report for the supplied cable.

This is an unarmoured cable.

Provide additional mechanical protection

where required by the installation conditions.

Cable supports, joints and terminations

must be suitable for the specified

fire-resistant wiring installation.

Select the cable according to circuit duty,

voltage rating, main conductor size,

CPC size, installation conditions

and the project fire performance requirements.

FIRE PERFORMANCE NOTE

BS 6387 and IEC 60331-21 are the circuit

integrity references listed in the catalogue.

IEC 60331-21 is a legacy reference.

The applicable standard edition,

test classification and fire duration

must be confirmed against project requirements

and the relevant cable test report.

Listing a test standard does not by itself

confirm certification or a specific fire rating.

SELECTION NOTES

For quotation, please provide the main

conductor size, CPC size, total cable length

and required insulation and sheath colours.

Specify the required circuit integrity

test standard, classification and duration.

Also confirm the installation environment,

cable routing, packing requirements

and delivery destination.

Do not assume that an ordinary LSZH cable

and a fire-resistant cable are interchangeable.

Outdoor exposure, wet locations and

underground installation require a separate

assessment of the cable construction

and installation protection.

Any additional UV, oil or chemical resistance

must be specified and confirmed before supply.

FAQ

Is this a single core cable or a two core cable?

This product has one insulated main conductor

and a separate bare copper CPC.

The CPC is a protective conductor.

It is not a second insulated circuit core.

What is the function of the mica tape?

The mica glass tape acts as a fire barrier

beneath the XLPE insulation.

It helps preserve electrical insulation

during fire exposure. The actual circuit

integrity performance must be supported

by testing of the cable construction.

What standards are referenced for this cable?

The basic design is adapted from BS 7211:2012.

The catalogue lists BS 6387 and IEC 60331-21

as circuit integrity test references.

IEC 60331-21 is a legacy reference.

Confirm the applicable standard edition

and required performance before ordering.

Does this cable automatically have a CWZ rating?

No specific CWZ rating or fire duration

should be assumed from the product name

or the presence of mica tape alone.

The required classification must be verified

against the relevant cable test report.

Is LSZH performance the same as fire resistance?

No. LSZH describes smoke and halogen-related

emission characteristics.

Fire resistance concerns the ability to

maintain circuit integrity under defined

fire test conditions.

These are separate performance requirements.

Is this cable armoured?

No. This is an unarmoured sheathed cable

with a bare copper CPC.

Additional mechanical protection should be

provided where required by the installation.

Can this cable be used for any emergency circuit?

Selection depends on the specific circuit,

installation design and required fire tests.

The cable, supports, joints and terminations

must be assessed for the intended duty.

Do not assume universal approval for

all emergency or life-safety systems.

How do I request a quotation?

Send the voltage rating, main conductor size,

CPC size, cable length and required fire rating.

Include the installation environment,

colour requirements, packing details

and delivery destination.
